Questions, answered plainly.

How much does a gynaecology consultation cost?
The initial consultation is $350 for 60 minutes and a follow-up is $200 for 30 minutes. Each is paid when it is booked. Together they total $550, but they are two separate appointments, not a discounted or prepaid package.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Yes, with a valid GP referral. A Medicare rebate of $88 applies to the initial consultation and $44 to the follow-up. You can book without a referral, but you will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate and the full fee applies. Medicare eligibility and any applicable rebate will be confirmed before your appointment.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book without one. Without a valid GP referral, though, you will not be eligible for a Medicare rebate and the full fee applies. To claim the rebate, ask your GP for a referral to Dr Kaushi Arulpragasam and upload it with your intake forms when you book, so it is in place before your appointment.
Which service should I book?
Book the initial consultation for the service that matches your concern. Every initial consultation is 60 minutes and $350. If you are not sure which fits, book the General Gynaecology Assessment: it is for exactly that, a new or ongoing concern, or several at once.
Is a follow-up always needed?
Follow-up appointments are booked according to your care needs, usually to review results and agree next steps. For contraception and menstrual management the follow-up is optional. Additional consultations are charged separately.
How is this different from a women’s health consultation?
Gynaecology consultations are with Dr Kaushi, an obstetrician and gynaecologist, and attract a Medicare rebate with a GP referral. Women’s health consultations are with Aevum’s nursing team, including perimenopause and menopause care, and Medicare rebates apply to eligible consultations.
Can everything be done by telehealth?
Appointments are provided by telehealth where clinically suitable. An in-person examination or procedure may be required. Where that is needed, Dr Kaushi arranges it and continues your care around it.
Where is Aevum available?
Australia-wide. Aevum Bio Clinic is a telehealth clinic: every consultation is by secure video with an AHPRA-registered practitioner based in Australia, so you can be seen from anywhere in Australia. Pathology is collected at any Australian Clinical Labs approved centre near you. Aevum sees adults aged 18 and over who are located in Australia at the time of their consultation.

Important information
